Godesses

“In Far Eastern cultures the Buddhas and other Gods are often portrayed lying down, and for me it just means so much.  Not in words, but in feelings.  The sleepers and goddesses I painted when I moved from woodcarving were first nestled in the ground asleep in the earth then waking up.  The Goddess Series of nine ochre coloured figures were painted from a reclining Buddha carving that I have in my studio.”
